Why you should celebrate your body and do professional Maternity photos.

Earlier this week I put out a model call for pregnant mamas. I got emails and messages from 7 women, all eager. But when I mentioned that they would need to feel comfortable with me photographing their beautiful bumps, all but 6 declined, stating they felt self conscious with how their bodies have changed. This broke my heart, because I know what a lot of them look like, and they are stunning women.

I’m here today to share why I think maternity photos are important and why you should get them done.

TREAT YO’SELF AND CELEBRATE YOUR PREGNANCY

As Retta used to say on Parks and Rec, “Treat yo’ self” (Dan gave me a mug with this saying years ago, and honestly its a great mantra).

I promise that you will look and feel like a queen. I promise, whatever insecurities you have will go away. I promise you will not regret taking these photos.

You deserve to be pampered! Enjoy having your hair and makeup done by my amazing makeup artist.

Channel your inner model, and celebrate this pregnancy.

CAPTURE THIS MOMENT IN TIME

You won’t be able to get this moment back. Life will never again be the same- so capture these moments as they are now. Even if you don’t feel like yourself, even if this is your fourth child.

Let’s take some photos so you can remember the joy, the excitement, and all the other emotions that come with being pregnant and bringing new life into the world.
